AQUATIZE® is an EPA-approved and registered sodium chlorite solution proven to dramatically reduce or eliminate salmonella, E-coli and nine other dangerous pathogens in the drinking water of livestock, including poultry. In a variety of studies, it has been shown to be more stable and effective at improving feed conversion, increasing weight gain and survivability than chlorine dioxide. AQUATIZE® is applied at low concentrations to the drinking water of poultry, swine, turkeys, and calves, and is easy to use. If stored in accordance with the EPA label, AQUATIZE retains high levels of activity for two years. AQUATIZE® is formulated for high efficacy, low toxicity and superior biodegradability.

AQUATIZE® has shown outstanding efficacy against these 11 pathogens listed on its EPA-approved label:

Campylobacter jejuni (ATCC 29428)
Escherichia coli (ATCC 11229)
Escherichia coli 015:H7 (ATCC 43895)
Listeria monocytogenes (ATCC 7644)
Pasteurella multocida (ATCC 6530)
Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 15442) *
Salmonella enteritidis (ATCC 13076) *
Salmonella typhimurium (ATCC 14028)
Shigella sonnei (ATCC 9290)
Streptococcus faecalis (ATCC 19083)
Streptococcus suis (ATCC 43765)

Unlike many animal drinking water disinfectants on the market, AQUATIZE has a vast library of scientific data behind it -- in many cases, the data has been published in peer-reviewed journals and researched by respected organizations in their field.

AQUATIZE®

AQUATIZE is an EPA-approved and registered sodium-chlorite solution that is added to the drinking water of animals to help them combat many pathogens that are commonly ingested by eating, drinking, licking, breathing, pecking, or foraging. In a variety of poultry studies, it has been shown to be more stable and effective than chlorine and chlorine dioxide at reducing food safety concerns.

AQUATIZE is applied at low concentrations to the drinking water of the animals and is easy to use. If stored in accordance with the EPA label, AQUATIZE retains high levels of activity for 2 years. Aquatize is formulated for high efficacy, low toxicity and superior biodegradability.

AQUATIZE in Brief

United States Quality

United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registered animal drinking water disinfectant approved to treat 11 bacteria as listed on its label -- a unique attribute.

Unique Formulation

Odorless oxyhalogen formulation which multiple tests have shown AQUATIZE to be more effective at killing pathogens in drinking water than bleach and some antibiotics.

Increased Profits

Use of AQUATIZE in drinking water has been shown to lower Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), improve immunity to disease, and increase animal weight gain for many animal species.

Scientific Data

Unlike many animal drinking water disinfectants on the market, AQUATIZE has a vast library of scientific data behind it -- in many cases, the data has been published in peer-reviewed journals and researched by respected organizations in their field.

A Unique Animal Drinking Water Disinfectant

Cleaner water = more profits

Clean drinking water is the most 'fundamental nutrient' but often the most neglected. To reduce costs, many producers may be utilizing inefficient substances to avoid contamination by waterborne pathogenic microorganisms. Water is an excellent source for disease transmission, especially in poultry and swine. Although consumer and government regulatory attention tends to focus on E. coli and Salmonella, a wide range of disease-causing pathogens are transmitted through drinking water. And in areas where many animal producers use the same water supply, the consequences of water contamination can be downright disastrous.

Typically, livestock producers use acidifiers, chlorine (bleach), chlorine diox- ide or hydrogen peroxide to combat pathogens in water along with other harsher chemical methods to combat biofilm buildups in water lines. However, each of these methods has inherent problems in effectiveness. Chlorine bleach and chlorine dioxide are the most commonly used water disinfectants, and although they are inexpensive, in order to effectively kill pathogens in contaminated water, the concentration of each of these disinfecting agents must be raised to a point where the disinfectant may actually interfere with performance of the animals or the animal may die if the concentra- tions are too high. Chlorine dioxide is an efficient disinfectant, but also dangerous to handle and producers risk workers’ safety by using it in farm situations.

The need for a stabilized, non-toxic water disinfectant is significant. AQUATIZE is the result of more than a decade of R&D which has produced a unique formulation. The product can be stored for years without loss of activity, it is odorless, and it kills a wide spectrum of bacterial pathogens in drinkinng water, even at very low concentrations. AQUATIZE does not appear to pose any threat to the environment, to farm workers or the animals that consume it. In addition, regular use of AQUATIZE in the water lines prevents the build-up of biofilm and will dislodge existing biofilm after treated water passes through the lines. AQUATIZE boosts profits. The time to use AQUATIZE in animal drinking water is NOW.

Dry or Liquid, AQUATIZE Effectively Kills Pathogens

Many farmers in some countries do not have the equipment required to inject AQUATIZE into the drinking water, so adding the product to feed might be the only viable method to use it in other countries.

Approvals required for use of AQUATIZE in feed vary from country to country and to date such approval has not yet been requested.  Accordingly, AQUATIZE is not yet approved as a feed additive.

The below broiler chicken study conducted by Dr James McNaughton, concluded that AQUATIZE added to the animal feed or drinking water, effectively killed E. coli and Salmonella.

Whether added to drinking water or to feed, AQUATIZE killed E. coli and Salmonella. Infected birds receiving AQUATIZE exhibited weight gain, feed conversions, and mortality levels that were almost as good as the values observed in uninfected controls.
